George Hall opens a zoo in Belfast, and all the animals there are always cared for. Buster the elephant is a favorite of the Hall family, especially Tom. But World War II breaks out, and George goes off to fight. Much has changed during his absence—by order from above, all dangerous animals are killed. To save Buster, Tom and his friends decide to hide him.
