The director of the amusement park, Indra, gives a speech about the final phase of the reconstruction. That same night, a guard of the park is attacked by a ghost with a burning sword. So Indra's daughter, Jamie, and her friend Thane find themselves embroiled in mysterious events: they have to find out who this ghost is and what it is looking for in Efteling. But Indra doesn't want to hear about mysterious stories. Even the expert opinion of the famous ghost hunter, Ronny Rui, cannot convince her. Indra refuses Ronny's services, attributing the appearance of the ghost to the pranks of hooligans. However, Thane and Jamie find an old book of fairy tales in their grandfather's library, which describes a character similar to the ghost from Efteling.
